Working together
Get close to the work. Make progress visible.
We start with a conversation, agree a useful next step and keep you involved as the work develops. The arrangement follows the problem.
01
Start with shop talk.
Tell us how the business works, what you are trying to do and where things are getting difficult. The conversation is free. We enjoy understanding businesses, whether or not a project follows.
02
Agree what the first piece should answer.
That could be a technical investigation, a workshop, a targeted fix or the first part of a build. We agree the scope, responsibilities, price and what you will use to judge the result before starting.
A bigger question may need a paid investigation before a responsible implementation estimate is possible. A small, well-understood request may go straight into doing the work.
What should you expect to spend?
$4,000per week, approximately, for smaller engagements
Engagements can start at around $4,000 per week. That gives you a ballpark for smaller projects; larger or more involved work can cost substantially more. We’ll discuss what you need and agree on the scope and price before starting.
A first conversation is free.
03
Work directly with Mike and Juan.
Juan usually leads requirements, customer feedback and client communication. Mike usually leads engineering and technical investigation. Product decisions are a shared conversation.
We agree who is involved, how often we check in and what you will be able to review. An ongoing arrangement should make it clear where our attention is going and what happens next.

Questions worth answering early
Do we have to use AI?
No. We can build a product with no generative AI in its operation. Restrictions on the tools used to develop it are separate and affect the estimate.
Can you work with the software we already have?
Yes. We can investigate, improve, integrate or continue existing work. We look at what is useful before recommending a replacement.
Can we hire you just for advice or training?
Yes. A development project is not a prerequisite. We can agree a standalone engagement.
What about source code, maintenance and access?
We agree ownership, licensing, operational access, documentation and support explicitly for the engagement. We distinguish client work from pre-existing tools and third-party software.
